Nelson to compete at world Champion of Champions singles event

Steve Nelson of Milwaukee Lake Park will compete against 20 national title holders at the Champion of Champions singles lawn bowls tournament on Norfolk Island (Australia) Nov 23-Dec 2. Men and women national singles champions earn a birth in the annual tournament. Nelson qualified by winning the singles event at the 2009 US National Championships. Players are divided into two sections, with the top three in each section moving on to playoffs. Nelson's first game in Section 2 will be against the English champion, followed by Spain, Wales, Botswana, host Norfolk Island, Philippines, New Zealand, Malaysia and Hong Kong.
