U.S. men's triples claim bronze at Asia Pacific Championships

Team USA claimed one medal at the 2011 Asia Pacific lawn bowling championships in Adelaide Australia. The team of Loren Dion and Ian Ho, both of southern California, and Steve Nelson of Milwaukee Lake Park LBC (Wisconsin) defeated Malaysia in the quarter-finals before losing to Australia in the semi-finals, putting the U.S. team on the podium for bronze. The Malaysians had dispatched the U.S. trio in section play, 21-8, but the U.S. played steady throughout the quarter-final match, winning 16-8.
The men's fours team of Michael Siddall, Loren Dion, Ian Ho and Joe Regan, along with Dee McSparren in women's singles, also qualified through section play to reach the quarter-finals, but did not advance to the medal round.
