Max Cavender punches ticket to U.S. Championships

The Central Division men’s singles playdowns attracted six bowlers in Milwaukee Wisconsin on Aug 16-17. At the end of round-robin play, 22-year old Max Cavender had an unblemished 5-0 record and earned the right to represent the Central Division at the U.S. Championships in Florida this November. Steve Nelson finished in second place with a 4-1 record and Jim Grzybowski third at 3-2. Also competing were second-year bowler Brian Schieble and first-year bowler Kirk Korneisel and veteran Leif Andresen.
