Cavender finishes T-5th in World Junior Championships
Maxwell Cavender achieved a tie for 5th place at the 2015 World Junior Championships in Australia. Finishing round robin sectional play at 4-3, Cavender qualified for the quarter-finals before bowing to Japan's Kenta Hasebe. On the way to the quarter-finals Cavender defeated defending champion Dylan Fisher of Australia and bowlers from New Zealand, Hong Kong and Cook Islands. Cavender lost to undefeated Kevin Anderson of Scotland by a close score of 17-21.Maxwell has risen through the ranks of U.S. bowls, getting his start as a 12-year old on the greens in Milwaukee WI, before advancing to U.S. Championships in recent years, and then on to international stage against the world's best. Well done, Maxwell. You made us all proud!
