Central players advance at SW Open Lawn Bowls tournament

Central men's team of Steve Nelson and Max Cavender won all three games on day 1 of the SW Open Lawn Bowls tournament, placing them in the championship flight composed of the top 8 teams from the qualifying day. Nelson and Cavender followed up their narrow victory over Teske and Salt of San Diego in game one with an easy win over Christensen and Murphy of the Bay Area. In their final game of the day the Central team outlasted a Santa Barbara CA team of Phillips and Kennedy. 48 pairs teams are entered.
