In the 2012 lawn bowls season, the Lakeside Club in Mitchell (SD) counted 1581 users. Rodney Titze, the driving force behind the renaissance of bowls in South Dakota, reports that the club completed a successful fundraiser to purchase benches for at the green, raising $3616.94 in addition to a $2500 matching grant from Modern Woodmen. Titze indicates the next project is to put a permanent building on the site.
In the Annual Trainers Tournament, Duke Seiner beat Mary Titze in singles; Mary Titze & Rod Titze over Janis Gerlach & Wayne Gerlach in pairs; and in triples Gerald Bultje & Rod Titze & Wayne Gerlach defeated Donna Bultje & Janis Gerlach & Mary Titze.
